Just 95kms out of Nairobi, the Tana River has some excellent rapids. A rafting trip on the river offers a combination of 10kms of White Water of clear river ideal for calm drifts through spectacular scenery. The rafting on this stretch of river is ideal for first time rafters, and is an excellent taster for Kenya’s other white water adventures. The drifts are a good opportunity for bird watching, and over 100 species have been recorded along the riverbanks. A day’s rafting at Savage Wilderness ends with a Barbecue lunch.
Depart Nairobi for Sagana at 7 am (From Sarit centre).
Upon arrival at 9.00 am, you will be briefed on safety measures and drive straight to the starting point.
Rafting will take you 3 -4 hours.
After completion, you will have a barbecue lunch at 1 pm. Relax at camp after lunch and depart at 3 pm for Nairobi.
